"A Christmas Carol" Pop-Up Book Review.

I love the story of the Christmas Carol as told by Charles Dickens.    I grew up watching the Mr. Magoo version of the movie which I loved and which horribly dates me!   It's a great story that tells of the power of love and devotion and shows that redemption is possible for even the seemingly coldest and hardest of hearts.

I was lucky enough to receive a BEAUTIFUL pop up version of A Christmas Carol.  Unfortunately the photos can't show the elaborate pop up or the depth that occurs when you open the pages.   There are 6 fantastic pop ups and on each of five pages there's a small book that you can read to tell the story.

This beautiful re-imagining of Charles Dickens's timeless fable, A Christmas Carol: A Pop-Up Book features artist Chuck Fischer's richly painted depictions of the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, brought to life in intricate pop-up scenes by paper engineer Bruce Foster. The entire text of A Christmas Carol is reproduced in five removable, illustrated, keepsake booklets. An introductory booklet provides a biography of Dickens and an illustrated feature on the enduring appeal of this beloved story. The perfect gift, A Christmas Carol, now in pop-up form, will brighten the holidays for young and old.

This would be a beautiful book to have to read to your own children at Christmas or would also make a lovely gift for a child or a family.    The book can be bought at most bookstores and also through Amazon

Thanks to Hachette Books for allowing me to review this book.    You can read more about it and watch a video that better illustrates the pop ups on their site here.
