Preparing My Son for College

As we're nearing the end of my son's senior year in high school, we're frantically trying to tie up all the loose ends of getting ready.    It's always a whirlwind of activity from visiting colleges, filling out applications, getting letters of recommendation,  trying to frantically battle "senioritis" to keep the grades up and preparing and taking the SAT.    We helped my son with his SAT score through SAT tutoring last summer.    I do think that's helpful as many colleges base their admissions and scholarships on a combination of GPA and SAT scores.    Luckily my son was able to have a high enough score on both to receive some scholarship money that will certainly help with his tuition.     Just this last week he finally accepted one of his colleges, and will be proudly attending his mother's alma mater, Indiana University.

So congrats to him and GO IU!!!

  1. Congrats on this! I know how big a deal this is. Indiana University is a great school and I bet scholarship money was hard to get. I just went through all this with my middle son and he was accepted early decision to his 1st choice school. We can both breath a sigh of relief. Ironically, we were sent tuition bill info with the acceptance letter. Hee, hee after the heart attack I had looking at the cost I did have a good laugh. arobimom at gmail dot com
