FREE Activities for Kids!

Several places are offering free items for the kiddos.    With the horrible winter weather and everyone experiencing cabin fever, it's great to look for things to keep them busy.

First is the Home Depot activity where you can make a Valentine Heart shelf.    Wouldn't this be cute in a little girls room?   Daddy could help his little Valentine with this!   This is Saturday Feb 5th from 9AM-12NN.    I'd check with your own store first to make sure this activity will be available, but it's supposed to be nationwide.

Michael's is also offering an activity.  Available Sun. Feb. 6th 1PM-3PM,  The Knack Family Event--Decorate a Valentine's Day Box Make-It Take-It.

Note you do have to purchase the white craft box. Share some love with this cute craft idea. While supplies last. Ages 3 and up welcome.

Get some free veggie seeds (looks like carrots) and gardening gloves for your budding gardener so they can start their own veggies indoors before the planting season.    Buy two Annie's food items and fill out an online form with the UPC numbers.  There's a list of stores that carry their products on the Annie's Homegrown site.  For me, their products are available at Meijer stores and Wal-Mart Supercenters.

And last, on Amazon, there are multiple episodes of Sesame Street, and even entire series, that you can download for FREE with video on demand.     One is a complete series called "Sesame Street From Around the World" where children can learn about other countries.  You can do individual countries or click on the button that says "Get the entire season with 1 click".

They also have "Learn Along with Sesame Street".

Thank you for your interest in Pear Tree Greetings' support of Operation Gratitude! Our goal: Send 75,000 cards to our men and women in the military.

Here's the gist:

* We'll send a package to the first 2,500 teachers who sign up
* Up to 30 cards per classroom
* Free to you and your students

At Pear Tree, we believe in the power of connection, especially by sharing a handwritten note. Through this partnership with Operation Gratitude, we encourage teachers all across America to share with their students the value of saying thank you. Together, let's lift the morale of the men and women in our military. After all, who doesn't like a smile?

Attention Teachers

Most of all, it's an opportunity to teach a lesson in gratitude to others so far away. Get out the globe...show them how far away our service men and women really are. Don't be shy-you can send a note too!

How Does it Work?

1. Fill out the form through the link below.
2. Pear Tree will send a packet of 30 cards, at no cost, to the first 2500 teachers who sign up.
3. Use the cards in your classroom, insert them in the enclosed envelope, and send the cards to Operation Gratitude (postage not included).
4. Operation Gratitude will send the cards in a package to our men and women in the military.
